Homes can range from2-to-3 bedrooms, 2-to-3 bathrooms, and two car garages with one floor plan having 3 car garage. Those 3 clubhouses are for residents to use freely and guests can accompany the resident but cannot use the exercise rooms. Sun Lakes is Gate guarded 24 hours at the main gates and a roving patrol throughout the community.

There are two 18-hole golf courses within the community, they are the Executive and Championship golf courses. Both are challenging but fair with sloping manicured greens. Many holes are surround by water features. Both courses are private, well-maintained offering scenic views of the San Bernardino and San Jacinto mountain ranges.
Several medical facilities are located right outside of Sun Lakes including San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital, Beaver Medical and Loma Linda Urgent Care.
